Kia Optima for 2009

Kia Optima for 2009 was offered with a new styling and more power; it was available in a new trim level. Its basic design is based on Hyundai Sonata; however, the features, pricing, and warranty differ.

New for 2009

2009 Optima received a new face-lift for 2009 that makes it look more aggressive and slightly longer. A new trim level (SX) and 17 inch alloy wheels are also offered. The enhancement is not only for the appearance, but also for the power output. It also received a new audio system and navigation system. Stability control and antilock brakes have been made standard for all the trims.

Trim Levels and Engine Specs



Kia Optima for 2009 is available in three trim levels- EX, LX, and SX (new for 2009). All the trims are integrated with a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder base engine that is capable of delivering an output power of 175 hp and torque of 169 pf. The LX trim comes with a standard 5-speed manual transmission and an optional 5-speed automatic transmission. This auto transmission is standard on SX and EX trims.

Fuel Economy

The EPA estimates for fuel economy are 22 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on highways, and 25 mpg combined for the V4 engine, while the figures drop down to 20/28/23 mpg for the V6.
